Engagements, newborns and my first Twins | Ottawa Wedding Photographer

So, this is definitely a catch-up-blog.  I really don't know any other photographer who is as bad at blogging on a regular basis (or even as close to being as bad, as I am).  Anyone who visited here this summer would have thought I didn't work at all over the last five months, but it is really the opposite!  And next years wedding season is shaping up to be sweet!!!

Here are a few sessions I did this summer-enjoy, and leave a little love (nothing like some encouragement for the wonderful subjects I had infront of my camera-and also for myself and my reluctance to blog!)

Mandy and Chris | Engaged

Loved, loved, loved this session.  Mandy and Chris are getting married at Lago Dows Lake in October. I am so excited to be their photographer, I love taking pictures of them!

  Erin and Shaun | Engaged

Erin and Shaun are another fantastic couple getting married in October.  I loved doing this engagement session, we were at a beautiful spot ( I think it's my new fav)  It is going to be an absolutely beautiful wedding at Strathmere House, I can't wait!

And then I had a newborn session with the most gorgeous twin baby boys!  Wade and Mason are the very first set of twins infront of my camera, they were so good-loved them.  And, yes, everything is doubled-twice as many pictures and I was there far longer than I usually am, but I loved every minute of it.

More boys!  Here are new arrival Carter, and big brother Chase. Carter slept the whole time-which was perfect, what an angel, even when he was awake briefly.  And Chase was happiest when Dad brought the neighbours dog over for photos with him, so cute.

October is going to be my busiest month yet-I definitely have to catch up and blog my summer weddings soon, so stay tuned..... somewhat!

Wedding | Steven and Jaime

On May 8, Soulmates Jaime and Steven, tied the knot.

It was an absolute honour to be their photographer for their gorgeous wedding.  Married at the beautiful St. Anthony's church in Ottawa with their precious little girl Olivia, and their family and friends around them.

I have known Jaime and her brother Derek since I was 14. I was their babysitter some Friday nights and for a whole summer one year, in The 'Gower'.  We had a lot of fun together-they were really cute!

Life flies by, flash forward 20+ odd years and once again through the wonders of Facebook, I reconnect with Jaime. Last summer I met her incredibly sweet and genuine fiancee Steven, and photographed them with their newborn bundle; Olivia, when she was just a few days old.

So beautiful, so romantic and so fun!

How they met, in their own words.

Jaime:
So for 3 months I refused to date him...when he left for xmas holidays I realized that I really missed him and maybe I did want to date him. We had met through some friends while in college, he stayed my friend and never tried anything 'til I was ready. We hung out almost everyday....we were best friends.

Steven:
I met her and thought "wow who is this girl?".   She was kinda cocky and didn't take any crap from anyone. We hung out with the same friends for a bit and when everyone went home for Xmas holidays we were all by ourselves hanging out for a few days until I left. I knew if I waited it out she would realize what a catch I was! I knew right away we would be together a long time. I just needed to convince her.

Bridal party hair:  Tammy Deacon from New Image Salon (Fantastic sylist!)
Flowers: Posh Pedals Florist (Just beautiful!)

Photobooth fun!

A mothers love...

Victoria was so relaxed and so totally in love with darling 7 day old  Alexandra. I had to actually blink hard and take a couple of deep breaths when she looked at her little bundle. Yes, the profound expression of love and delightment on her face for little Alexandra was that real.  So sweet.

Victoria had contacted me to let me know about her upcoming April due date, back in February.  As usual waiting was torture for me...nevermind the really excited mama-to-be!  On April 19, gorgeous, darling little Alexandra arrived and I finally got to meet them both a week later.
What a content little angel Alexandra was, she barely made a peep and was a photographers dream with just the right amount of sleepy time and awake time.

A mothers love is instinctual, unconditional and forever.-Unknown

Engagement | Oh sweet love…..

Julie and Kevin are a really cute couple who are so happy and relaxed......and they love to laugh. Who knows what they were whispering to each other to get those belly laughs and giggles, but whatever it was, it worked for us that day! My girlfriend and fellow photographer April is shooting their wedding in October, and I joined her for Julie and Kevin's engagement shoot a couple of weeks ago.

We strolled around downtown Ottawa, around the locks and the market and had so much fun capturing a little of Kevin and Julie’s ‘togetherness’ through our lenses.

Enjoy, and leave some love for them in the comment box!

Sister Sweetness

I have not blogged in forever, and with the upcoming wedding season and the need for photographers everywhere to blog (amongst other things ‘social-media’ wise) I thought this would be a good time to get back on track. To get into the swing of things, a little blogging about the most recent additions to our family is long overdue and a good place to start.

I shot a maternity session for each of my beautiful, ballooning sisters. Alexis was pregnant with her first child, and Andrea with her third, and we had a lot of fun. Andrea would have my head if I posted any of her pictures from her 3rd trimester session but I am allowed to put up a picture from when she was five months preggie, and that is IT!

First is the session I did with Alexis, on her DUE DATE, I might add, in all her beautiful-mamma-to-be-glory! Then the results of the long wait…. two beautiful little girls, whom I adore. Alexis and Cory had Lilly May and Andrea and Marc had Zoe Evelyn.

Alexis on her due date.

Lilly, just a day old still in the hospital.

Andrea, 5 months pregnant with Zoe.

Zoe, when she was a week old.

Zoe at almost 5 months.
